IMANI's goals for our Youth

The Imani Track Club is a small nonprofit organization that strives for excellence on and off the track.  The track team consists of mostly minority youths from the Compton area.  Our Coaches, assistant staff and team moms are volunteers.

Our goal for the Imani youth-athletes has been to prepare them for competition in track and field events.  They attend three, two-hour practice sessions per week.  Our season is from January to the middle of August.  Track meets are held throughout the Pacific States which provide opportunities to incorporate social and fundamental skills to help them become high achievers.  We have instilled in them the understanding that only through hard work can they achieve their goals.

IMANI's mission

To encourage all athletes to maintain satisfactory grades in school.   To emphasize the importance of keeping a proper relationship and balance between scholastic and athletic endeavors.  To teach sportsmanship, discipline and love of individual and team sporting events
Imani was established in 1985 by Steve Todd.  We are proud and bless to have sent athletes to the Junior Olympic every year.  EVERY Imani athlete has improved in ability, time and attitude towards success.
